CCNP DINNER PRESENTATION

Dr. Weitz is the founder and Co-Director of the Center for Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases, a Center of Excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of Rheumatologic conditions and Osteoporosis. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. Dr. Weitz is a graduate of the Weill Cornel Medical College and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. He continued his medical education at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he completed his fellowship training in Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology. Dr. Weitz has been involved in medical research and has participated in numerous clinical trials, studying new and unique treatments which are now used commonly in the treatment of patients. He is a former Voluntary Faculty member of the Miller School of Medicine in Miami, serving as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine in Rheumatology. Dr. Weitz is past President of the Florida Society of Rheumatology and a current member of the Executive Board of the Florida Society of Rheumatology. He has also served on the Board of Governors of the Florida Medical Association, advocating for patient rights and insurance reforms to improve access to care and affordable medications for the people of Florida. He is recognized as a National Thought Leader in Rheumatology and lectures nationally on Rheumatologic topics, care, and treatment. He is a consultant and on the Speakers Bureau of multiple pharmaceutical companies. He is also a Chief Medical Officer and VIP of AARA and on the AARA Board. Dr. Weitz is married and has four children and three grandchildren. He is dedicated to his family and thrives on being physically active, exercising on a regular basis, traveling, skiing, outdoor activities, and wine collecting.
