Dr. Gruneiro has been in practice for almost twenty-five years. She is a graduate of The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, where she received the top award for academic excellence and was inducted into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. She completed a five-year General Surgery Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital Center in New York City and then completed a two-year Endovascular and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Southern Illinois University (SIU) in Springfield, Illinois. She maintained a clinical practice in vascular surgery as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at SIU and established the SIU Vein Center, dedicated to the treatment of venous disorders. She also participated in the education of medical students, residents, and vascular fellows while performing clinical research. She has authored numerous journal articles and book chapters. She established the Advanced Vein Center of Charlotte County in 2010, a practice dedicated exclusively to the treatment of venous disease.
